Excited to be part of the 2nd Annual Spirit Weavers Gathering this coming weekend in Joshua Tree!
My friend and sister Amy Woodruff of Daughter of the Sun has put together an amazing event, bringing together women from across the country to learn, love and create under the sun and stars of the beautiful California desert.
I will be selling my products during the day along with my best girl Sasha Darling of Bell Jar SF. If you are attending the event stop by and say hello! I will also have the exclusive apothecary products I created for Sisters of the Black Moon for sale and offering fun hair braids!

Mango is by far one of my favorite fruits. I picked up some frozen Mango at Trader Joe's recently and figured they would be a good ingredient for a nice smoothie, so I created this recipe that is somewhat Indian inspired and also inspired by Moon Juice's Golden Milk, which just blows my mind every time I drink it!
The added flavors of Nutmeg, Cinnamon and healing Tumeric give this smoothie a little bit of a kick, then I top it off with Chia Seeds to really get my body going.
1 cup Almond Coconut Milk (Blue Diamond is my favorite, or just regular Coconut Milk or Almond Milk, I like the two mixed together)
1/2 Cup Orange Juice
1 - Banana
1/2 cup Frozen Mango Chunks
1 tsp Tumeric Root Powder
Pinch of Cinnamon
Pinch of Nutmeg (freshly grated is the best)
1 Spoonful of local honey (or Agave for vegans)
Blend together for about a minute. Pour into a nice glass then add about a tablespoon of chia seeds and stir with a spoon. This is great for breakfast or whenever you need a fresh pick me up in the middle of the day.

I love this recipe, so simple and healthy! I usually make this for breakfast time when I need something on the go for an energy boost. Chia seeds are very rich in fiber, when combined with water or any liquid substance they swell up causing them to "gel". It is because of this the recipe really works, creating a thick and pudding-like consistency.
All you need is:
-1 cup of Coconut Milk (I like Trader Joe's brand in Vanilla)
-3 Tablespoons of Chia Seeds
Blend together Coconut Milk and Banana for about a minute. Pour into a bowl and add chia seeds. Mix, then set in the fridge for at least 20 minutes. I like to make this the night before and let it sit overnight. SO YUMMY!!!
